Robert Gordon Dunnavant, Jr. of Elkton, passed away March 28, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
He was born on June 9, 1952 in Giles County and was 59 years old.
He was a member of the Elkton Baptist Church, a Vietnam veteran in the United States Marine Corp and a Tool & Die Maker in the automotive industry.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 29th from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 30th at 11:00am in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Brister officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dunnavant Family Cemetery in Elkton, Tn. with full military honors.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sam Campbell Dunnavant
parents, Robert Gordon Dunnavant, Sr. and Louise Campbell Dunnavant.
He is survived by his, wife, Cathy Norwood Dunnavant of Elkton
Son, Robert Gordon Dunnavant III of Elkton; daughter Robin Dunnavant of Nashville; grandchildren, Devin, Waylon, and Chance; brothers, Jimmy D. Dunnavant and wife Verna of Elkton, and (half brother) Billy W. Rolin of Arkansas;
sister, Cecelia Hasting and husband Larry of Columbia.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
