CARROLLTON - Willis A. Long, age 60, died on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at the St. Dominic Hospital Jackson MS. He was born in Durant MS and resided most of his life in the Carrollton Greenwood area. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended MS Delta Community College, and was a member of the MS National Guard for 11 years. He was a charter member of the New Haven Baptist Church in Greenwood where he was a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. He owned and operated Willis Long Concrete Contracting Company for over 30 years. He was a devoted servant of the Lord, and dedicated husband, father, and Grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father Charlie Franklin Long, and a brother Charlie Martin Long.

Visitation will be held Thursday 03/29/2012 4:00 PM 7:00 PM at the Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services will be held Friday 03/30/2012 3:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS with the Rev Dennis McKay and Rev Wade Stevens officiating. Burial will be at the Longview Cemetery in Carroll County.

Pallbearers will be James Chandler, Adam Staples, Tyler Staples, Michael French, Trinity Long, Kevin Long, Patrick Yeoman, and Sergio Rodriquez. Honorary Pallbearers will be James "Pookie" Yeoman, Calvin Sullivan, Kitt Higginbotham, John Summerville, Hubert Williams, and the Men of New Haven Baptist Church.

He is survived by Wife, of 39 years, Doris J. Long of Carrollton, MS. 2 Sons, Mitchell Aden Long of Carrollton, MS., and Dustin Aden (Tasha) Long of Mathiston, MS., 2 Brothers, William Franklin Long of Richland, MS., and Clifton Mark Long of IA., 2 Sisters, Rachel Johnson of North Carrollton, MS., and Rebecca Jean Long of North Carrollton, MS. Mother, Maydell Clark Long of North Carrollton, MS. 4 Grandchildren, Sara Aden Long of Carrollton, MS., Maggie Brooke Long of Carrollton, MS., Joshua Aaron Long of Carrollton, MS., and Caden Presleigh Long of Mathiston, MS.

Memorials may be made to the New Haven Baptist Church. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge.
