OLD RESIDENT DEAD.
John Foster Succumbs to a Serious
Illness of Two Weeks.
John Foster, living at 38 Windsor-ave., one of Windsor's oldest and best known citizens died Sunday evening at 10 o'clock. Death was caused by the bursting of a small blood vessel in the head on March 15th. For a time deceased improved slowly, but on Friday he became worse, growing weaker, the end being very peaceful.
Mr. Foster was seventy-six years of age. He was born in Hampstead[sic], England, removed to America when nine years of age. For a time he resided in Utica, N.Y., from where he removed to Detroit. He settled in Windsor over fifty years ago and since that time has been one of the city's most respected citizens. Mr. Foster was married twice, and leaves a widow, two daughters, and one son, all of whom reside at home. The children are, Sarah, Mary and William J.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2:30, service being conducted at the house by Rev. Mr. Livingstone.
Interment will be made at Windsor Grove cemetery.
