Leona was born May 30, 1924 in Independence, MO as one of two children to Benjamin F. and Mildred G. (Larson) Williamson. She graduated from William Chrisman High School class of 1942. On November 2, 1946 she married Frank W. “Dub” Adams, Jr. and together they raised four children. She was a talented seamstress who made many items for her family and ran a business out of her home until her husband’s death in 1973. Then she became a manager of the men’s department at Woolco until retirement in 1982. She sold consignment needlework at Old Shawnee Town and Bratcher Cooperage. The last twenty years she has been very involved in the quilting industry with Blackbird Designs. Leona is a life time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Restoration. Her family remembers her as humble, caring, intelligent, loving, and always thinking of others first.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara K. Adams; sons, Stephen R. Adams, Robert W. Adams, and Richard L. (wife, Alison) Adams; grandchildren, Ben A. Adams, Emily E. Twiehaus, Mitchell R. Adams, Jonathan W. Adams, and Jordan R. Adams; great grandchildren, Hayden E. Adams, Cole J. Adams, Jeralyn Joy Twiehaus, Makenna Ella Twiehaus, Bethany Grace Twiehaus, and Adam Edward Twiehaus; special friends, Jan Bratcher, Kathy (Puckett) Brandt, Alma Allen, and Pam Williamson.
