William A. Davis, of 374 Sahler Mill Rd, Olive Bridge, NY entered into the presence of his Savior on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. He was born in Mineola, NY on January 4, 1923 to William and Agnes Davis. He is predeceased by his parents and older brother Frank and is survived by his sister Elizabeth Young and brother Paul Davis. Bill has been the loving husband of Florence Davis for a wonderful 68 years. He has been blessed by four children, two girls, Gaye Andrews and husband James and Lorraine Netzley and husband Craig; two boys, Harry Davis and wife Vickie and Brian Davis and wife Crystal. He has enjoyed the love of eight grandchildren, Heidi, April, Tim, Lyle, Lannar, Ben, Amanda and Mariah. Five great grandchildren, Ella, Grant, Andrew, Addison and Lincoln added youthful joy to his days.
Bill has been a member of the Kripplebush United Methodist Church for 40 years and was a member of the choir. It was there he gave his life to Christ. The opportunity to be baptized in the Jordan River, Israel, was a great joy in his life.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with the Rev. Mark Schmitz of Harvest Bible Chapel of Hickory officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service.
