John Allison was born in Lincolnshire, England, May 12, 1820 and died of old age at the home of his son Edmund at Delphos, June 23, 1914, at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 11 days. In 1845, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Walmsley who died June 14, 1907. The following children survive their parents: Edmund and Will of Delphos, Charles and Porter of Minneapolis, and James of Lamar. Forty-four grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also live to mourn their loss. Mr. Allson formerly lived in Illinois, coming to Kansas in 1868 where he engaged in farming.
The funeral services were condusted at the Union Center church by Rev L.S. Cooper Thursday, June 25th, and interment was made in the Hall Cemetery. The pallbearers were J. Reafsnyder, J. Snooks, T.C. Toler, J. Rollings, Mr. Doty and E. Kreigh.
