Louis was the son of Jacob Alschuler and Joanna Steifel, husband of Allie, father of Jean and Charles, brother of Harry and Frank (Obituary). He and his brothers Harry and Charles opened Alschuler Brother's Clothing Store in 1885, the first store to have electric lights and was a mainstay in Aurora for over 100 years.
