Mr. Wilbert A. May was born in the state of Alabama to the late Oliver and Idelle May. He moved to Arkansas in 1930 and attended elementary school in Parkdale and high school at Chicot County Training School in Dermott. He received a B.S. Degree n Agriculture from AM&N College in Pine Bluff and M.S. Degree in Agriculture from Prairie View A & M University at Prairie View, Texas. Mr. May was retired from 32 years of service as an Agriculture County Extension Agent, Chicot County.
Mr. May passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville, Miss. He leaves as survivors: His wife, Narvel May of Lake Village; one daughter, Carnevel (Gilbert) Bellamy of Grand Prairie, Texas; one son, Edwin (Tanya) May of Grand Prairie, Texas; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Briggs Cemetery, Sixteen Section, Highway 278, Monticello, Ark. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home and Staff, 830 Saint Mary Street, Lake Village, Ark. Family and Friend visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at New Hope Baptist Church. The family will be at the May home, Millie-Sterett Street, Lake Village.
