Adelaide was a model of authentic Christian charity. She was generous and kind.
She was born in Conway, Arkansas. Her father was a store owner in Conway and later in Colorado. She spent her young adult years in Colorado, graduating from Loretto Heights College in 1941 with a degree in Math and Physics. She married John Arthur O'Leary in 1942. Their one child, Elizabeth was born later that year. She was unable to have more children of her own, but was in love with babies for the rest of her life. If there was a baby in the room, it would be found in Adelaide's arms.
A lifelong Catholic and military wife, she found enjoyment in her Church life and in the Officer's wives clubs. She traveled the country with the military and found each place to be an adventure. During her last 30 years they resided in Alexandria, VA. Their house was always open for visitors and they enjoyed guiding family and friends all around Washington D.C.
She enjoyed collecting dolls and uniquely decorated eggs. She had a special love for butterflies. Her hobbies were: gardening, reading, and travel. She was very active and supportive of family. Her daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren were a great joy to her. She was able to meet two of her great-granddaughters during her lifetime.
