Margaret L. Greer of Hanford passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at a Hanford Hospital at the age of 82 years. Margaret was born December 29, 1929 to Irish immigrants James and Eleanor Donnan Morrison in Hanford, California. She attended Rustic School, a one room school house for 6 years and then for 2 years more under its new name: Armona Grammar School. She graduated from Hanford High School with the class of 1947. She and her local classmates continued to meet monthly for lunch. During her high school years, Margaret worked at the old Peter Pan Restaurant on 7th St. and after graduation began working for Kings County. In March, 1948 she married the love of her life, Wallace Greer.

In 1957, Margaret started her career at Roosevelt School as school secretary, and retired almost 40 years later. After retirement, she enjoyed world travel, sewing and gardening. Along side her husband, Wallace, she was actively involved with the Armona Lions Club, Square Eights, Hanford Masonic Lodge No. 279, the Scottish Rite and the Tehran Shrine Temple, and Hanford Elks Lodge No. 1259. She continued to be actively involved in the Altar Guild and Episcopal Church Women at Church of the Saviour.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Kristine Lusk and her husband Cecil of Armona; a grandson, Sean Lusk and his wife Beth of Arroyo Grande, 2 granddaughters: Sarah Lackey and her husband Vern of Lemoore, and Margaret (Maggie) Simpson of Armona; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Corby Dale of Lemoore; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elmer and Mary Lou Greer of Hanford; 3 nephews, Alan Dale and his wife Candace of Lemoore, Dr. Martin Greer and his wife Caroline of Las Cruces, N.M., and Charles Greer of Fresno; 5 great-grandchildren, Darren and Logan Lusk of Arroyo Grande, Makaila and Makenzie Lackey of Lemoore, and Margaret (Molly) Simpson of Armona. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wallace, in July, 2002.

Margaret loved her home at the Remington, her family and many friends. She always had several activities and projects in progress and continued to seek knowledge and new experiences in her life. Her deep faith and trust in God was reflected in her daily life.

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rains fall soft upon your fields and
Until we meet again, may the Lord
Hold you in the palm of his hand.
