Minnie Young

MILES CITY – Retired teacher Minnie Young, 76, died Thursday morning at her home of natural causes.

Miss Young taught in rural schools in southeastern Montana, including Broadus, Miles City, Great Falls, Martel and Sheffield. In 1970 she retired and lived with her longtime friend Katherine Wilson.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Delta Kappa Gamma, Miles City Women's Club and Retired Teachers Association.

Born in Princeton, Minn., a daughter of Edward and Lilie Young, she received a teaching degree from Eastern Montana Normal School in 1927.

Survivors include two sisters, Laurel Lamoreaux of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Merthyl Warn of Miles City; nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a. m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Custer County Cemetery with Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in charge.
