Raymond C. Hill, 77 Expires on Seymour, R1
Raymond C. Hill, 77, a resident of Jackson County for 34 years, died at 8:15 o'clock this morning at his home on Seymour R1. He had been seriously ill for the past five weeks.
Mr. Hill, a farmer, was born December 17, 1877, in Rush County, the son of the late Raymond and Susan Hill.
He was reared in Henrdicks County near Plainfield after he was three years old, by foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Williams.
He was married October 25, 1914, at Mooresville to Mary Ellen McCrary, who survives. He had lived in Jackson County since 1920 and was a member of the Ackert's Chapel Methodist Church. A host of friends mourn his death.
Besides the widow, he is survived by five children: Mrs. Helen Vandiver, Seymour R1, Mrs. Mazo Higginbotham, Seymour R1, Raymond C. Hill, Philippine Islands, Mrs. Lucille Bannister, Scipio R1, and John William Hill, Seymour R1. Two foster children, Miss Ruby May Hall, at home, and Richard Robbins, at home, and 10 grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Voss Mortuary and at 2 o'clock from the Ackert's Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Ewer, pastor of the Ackert Chapel Church, in charge.
Burial in the Reddington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Voss Mortuary after 7 o'clock Thursday night.

Mrs. Mary Hill Dies - Rites Set Monday
Mrs. Mary Ellen Hill, 86, Seynour R1, died at 2:25 p.m. Friday at the Jackson Park Convalescent Center.
Born July 24, 1888, in Mooresville in Hendrix County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Lucretia Anderson McCreary. She had lived in the county since 1925.
On October 25, 1914, she married Raymond C. Hill. He preceeded her in death on March 16, 1955. She was a member of the Ackerts Chapel Methodist Church and had taught Sunday School in Methodist churches for 50 years.
Mrs. Hill was a past president of Ackerts Ladies Missionary Circle and had reported tghe Ackerts Chapel news to the Seymour Tribune for 20 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Earl (Helen) Vandiver, Seymour R1, Mrs. Ruie (Mazo) Higginbotham, of Seymour, and Mrs. Delbert (Lucille) Bannister, Scipio R1; two sons, Raymond C. Hill, of Centerville, Ohio, and John William Hill, Seymour R1; two foster children, Richard Robbins, Seymour R1, and Ruby Hall, at home; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Smoot, of Washington, D.C.; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
One brother and one sister preceded Mrs. Hill in death.
Funeral services will be conducted from Ackerts Chapel United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Dallas Collier officiating. Burial in Reddington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Voss Mortuary after 11 a.m. Sunday until the time of the service.
Memorials should be designated to the Ackerts Chapel United Methodist Church.
