Alvan Ernest Billings, a resident of Bogalusa, LA, age 87, born on February 2, 1925 in Bogalusa, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Rest Haven Living Center in Bogalusa, LA.
He is survived by one son, Steven Allen (Janet) Billings of Baton Rouge, LA; two grandsons, Jeremy Scott Billings and Spencer Keen Billings.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lloyd Billings and Odile Agnes Blanchard Billings; three brothers, Harold Lloyd Billings, Raymond Joseph Billings and Ralph Paul Billings.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 6:00 P.M.
Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Services 11:30 a.m. Father Patrick Collum will officiate with Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery with Military Graveside Services by the Magic City American Legion Post #24.
