Elsa, 89, passed peacefully from this world into the next on Monday at home with her family, caregiver Winnie and dear friend Aurora at her side.
Born in Pratola Peligna, Italy. Elsa, along with her sisters and brothers, came to America when she was a young girl. Elsa was preceded in death by her husband Dominic and was the devoted mother to Patricia (David), Paul (Heidi), David (Sheila), Diane (Paul) and Denise. Beloved Grandmother to Elise, David, Kyle, Taylor, Amber and Trevor and Great Grandmother to Paulina; Elsa loved her children and grandchildren more than anything.
Elsa was proud of her Italian heritage and wrote and published a book about her family's journey from Italy to America ("Ciao Pratola, Hello America"). She was a devout Catholic and sang in the St. Martin of Tours Church choir for many years. We will all miss her bright smile, and the happiness, love and laughter she brought to everyone who spent time with her. Her beautiful voice will remain forever in our hearts.
Visitation 6 to 9pm and Rosary at 7pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, Mon., Apr. 2. Funeral Mass at St. Martin of Tours Cath. Church, 200 O'Connor Dr., in San Jose on Tues., Apr. 3 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 1060 La Avenida St., Mtn. View, CA 94043 www.alzfdn.org.
