Aalyiah A. Jackson, 10, was born Dec. 24, 2001, in Sumter. Aalyiah was a daughter of Robert Jackson Sr. and Elizabeth Young. She departed this life on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Palmetto Health Richland hospital in Columbia.

Aalyiah had an older brother, Robert Jackson Jr., who also departed this life on March 31, 2012.

Aalyiah is survived by her parents; one brother, Trymaine Young; four sisters, Anastasia Young, Shanavia Johnson, Jayna Prister and Brittany Prister; grandparents, Joseph Dow, Virgel Oliver and Clinton Pack Sr.; seven aunts, Minnie Dicks, Shirley Dinkins, Sandra Wells, Tawn Atkins, Drucilla Dees, Angielita Pack and Cynthia Isaac; eight uncles, Mark Oliver, Clayton Pack, Clinton Pack, Maymon Pack, Larry Young, Johnny Young, Bruce Young and Julius Young; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Greater Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 609 Miller Road, Sumter. Burial will take place at Greater Mount Pisgah Church Cemetery, Rembert.

A public viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family is receiving friends at 2401 Columbia Circle and 906 Collins St., Sumter.
