ABERNATHY, Anna Ruth Eller, age 72, of Tellico Plains, left this life to live with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Because of her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was born September 21, 1939, in Whites Plain, N.Y., to Lloyd and Wilma Eller, but grew up in Coker Creek where she had made her home since 1973. She was musically gifted and shared her talents as a pianist and organist, most recently at Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a long-time member. She was also active in her church's various outreach ministries, especially those where she could share her late-in-life interest in crocheting scarves, hats and blankets for the needy. She was a homemaker and had been a school teacher at Tellico Plains Elementary School before her retirement. Preceded in death by parents, her first husband Moye Hollenhead, brothers Billy Lynn Eller, Gilbert Lloyd Eller and Dennis Larry Eller, stepson Gerald Abernathy, granddaughter Kyra Abernathy; all of whom are rejoicing in heaven with her today. Survivors- Husband: Dennis Abernathy, Daughter & son-in-law: Sabra & Kelly Klemetsrud, Cleveland, Son & daughter-in-law: Gary & Michelle Hollenhead, Knoxville, Step sons & wife: Victor & Tina Abernathy, Vonore, Denny Abernathy, Coker Creek, Bill Hollenhead, Cleveland, Step daughter & husband: Carolyn & Bill Kelly, Tellico Plains, Sisters: Mary Sue Akins, Madisonville, Phyllis Eller Meyer, GA, Brother: Jerry Eller, Florida, Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral 2:00 P.M. Saturday, Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Luke Hall and Rev. Victor Abernathy officiating. Interment in Epperson Cemetery. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Friday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains.
