Mrs. Russell M. (Charlotte I.) Johnson, 93, of Morris died Sunday evening, May 16, 2004 at The Tillers Healthcare Residence in Oswego.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at the Newark Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Sampson officiating. Burial will be in West Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Newark Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM.
Born March 15, 1911 in Newark, a daughter of Tom and Ina (Olson) Bromeland. On May 30, 1930, she married Russell M. Johnson. They farmed together in Newark until retirement and moved to Morris in 1975. She was a member of the Newark Lutheran Church and at one time, a Teacher's Aide at the Newark Grade School.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald (Marge) Johnson of Morris, Gene (Liz) Johnson of Newark and Wilbur (Sharon) Johnson of Aurora; a daughter, Jackie Dimmick of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Russell in 2001; a grandson-in-law, Russell Read; three brothers, Orrin, Merton and LaVerne Bromeland.
Pallbearers will be Brent Dimmick and Mark, Tim, Tod, Shawn and Wayne Johnson, David Toftoy, Denny Kreamalmeyer, Ron Glade and John Sudges. Honorary pall bearers will be Vickie Johnson, Nancy Toftoy, Terry Read, Lisa Kreamalmeyer, Lucinda Glade and Shelley Sudges.
