RITES HELD FOR RAYMOND GORRELL,65

Raymond Gorrell,65, of Renwick, died in his sleep at home sometime during the early morning of October 12, 1970. He was born on April 26,1905 at Bogata, Ill., to Andrew and Dora Gorrell. He married Charlotte E. Clowes on a farm in Wright COunty on June 4, 1933.

Ray drove a truck for the National By Products Co. of Belmond for 36 years, having retired in January of 1969 and the past year working when his health permitted for Swanson's Farm Center.

Ray was secretary for the Masonic Viona Lodge No. 538 A.F.&A.M. for 23 years. He was also a member of the Modern Woodsman of America and the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte, one son, Jerry of LeMars, four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Henry (Ruby) Groh of Livermore, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Masonic rites were conducted by the Viona Lodge Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel with Dr. Walter Long as lecturer. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 14 at the United Methodist Church in Renwick with Rev. Donald Glazier officiating. The Blake Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, at Renwick.
