She was bom March 30 1929 in Huntingdon the daughter of Harry and Erma (Roland) Greenland, who survive in Port Royal, Juniata County, Pa.
She was united in marriage first to Stanford Runk and later to Pagana who preceded her in death in 1973. She was later married to Dale Byers who survives.
The following children also survive Gary Runk, Mrs. Keith (Debra) Mingle, Mifflintown; Mrs. Gary (Judy) Boozel, Mifflin; Mrs. Roger (Teresa) Nearhood, Mifflintown; Charles Pagana at home; step daughter Mrs. Lorraine Drake, Mount Union; and ? Byers of Mount Union. Ten grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Robert (Marie) Watkins.
She was preceded in death by one son, Samuel Pagana in 1970.
Mrs. Byers was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Women of the Moose. She was co-owner along her husband of B and D Cafe in Mount Union since 1977.
Mrs. Byers of the Saltillo High School in 1946 and the Secretarial School in 1948.
Funeral services were on Friday, March 17 at the D Funeral Home Mount Union. Interment was made in the Holy Cross Cemetery Huntingdon. Friends called at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 t0 9 pm and on Friday from 9 am until the hour of services.
