Carver G. Davis, 88, 714 S. 19th St., died March 3, 1997, at Trinity Regional Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. William J. Pekari officiating. Burial will be in Greenfield Township Cemetery, Knierim. Visitation is from 2 to 8:00 p.m. at Bruce's Funeral Home.
Survivors include son George Davis Jr., Rockwell City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers Richard Davis, Fort Dodge, Bob Davis, Lomita, Calif; companion Dorothy Wingerson. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Grace Vanderhoff Davis, first wife Amanda, and brothers Roy and Tom.
Carver George Davis was born March 7, 1908, near Clare. He attended country schools. In 1930 he married Amanda Nimke in Knierim. The couple lived near Knierim until 1940 when he began working for the Illinois Central Railroad. In 1947, they moved to Rockwell City. He retired in 1973. She died in 1977, and after her death he continued to live in Rockwell City until 1990 when he moved to Fort Dodge.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
