Calista Elizabeth Brown was the daughter of Ezra Brown and Betsy Fisher.

On 13 Dec 1825, Calista married Robert Woolworth Clark, (son of Col. Ozias Clark & Rachel Fitch). For several years they kept the village hotel. They raised a family of six daughters & one son: Betsey, who graduated at the Troy Female Seminary, and married Harrison Everett, of Chicago, Ill.; Mariette, who married James B. Robinson and died in 1860, aged 81; Lemira, who married Samuel Franklin Penfield, of Rockford, Ill; Amelia, teacher of music, Fannie, Kittie and son, Marlan Brown Clark.

At the time of Calista's death, She and her spinster daughter Fannie were living in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Her other daugther was Calista"Kitty" who married Horace Warren, DDS.
