Alaska Resident, Victor Linson Andrews passed away on March 25, 2012 in Anchorage, Alaska.

A visitation will be held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel at 737 E Street Anchorage, AK on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Final services and internment will take place in Chevak on Saturday, April 7th, 2012.

Pallbearers are John Pingayak, Norman Pingayak, Ken Andrews, Gregory C. Slats, Matthew, Paul and Brian Andrews.

Victor was born on August 8th, 1960 in Chevak, Alaska to Billy and Cecilia Andrews.

Victor graduated from Chevak High School. He joined the United State Marine Corp in 1981 and received with Good Conduct Medal Award and was honorably discharged. Throughout his life Victor resided in Chevak, Bethel, Anchorage, Alaska and Miami, Florida.

Victor throughout his career worked at the Kashunamiut School District, National Chemical Company, Tundra Drums/Village as a sports writer, various stores in Bethel and Association of Village Council Presidents, Inc.

Victor was affiliated with the Catholic and Seventh Day Adventist Churches. Victor enjoyed writing, playing basketball, hunting, fishing, gathering from the land traditional ivory carving, traditional mask making, and yuraqing.

The family states that, "Victor was a humorous man, always friendly to all people alike, compassionate, and considerate, loved all children and loved to eat his Cupik food. He always had kind words for everyone and could make a room full of people laugh.

Victor leaves behind is mother Cecilia R. Andrews of Chevak, sisters Genevieve M. Andrews, Irene W. Andrews and family, Uyuriukaraq L. Urlan and family, JoAnn S. Bennett and family of Anchorage, sisters Evelyn A. Andrews, Jacquelyn S. Kashatok and family and Misty Andrews of Chevak, brothers Mathew D. Andrews and family of Texas, brothers Gabriel and Brian Andres of Chevak, Children Victor X. Nayagak and family of Hooper Bay, AK, Jacob Olson and Charlette Andrews of Chevak, Edward Feagle of Toksook Bay, Angel Andrews and Damien Andrews of Akiak, AK and Piculi Wolfe of Tampa Bay, Fl.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Candace Marie Friday, Canon Michael Nayagak and Emery Andrews of Chevak, AK and Mitchell Troy Andrews of Akiak, AK, his aunt Julia Tom of Newtok, AK and Uncle George Urovak of Lower Kalskag, AK.

Victor was preceded in death by his grandparents Andrew and Mary Urovak, Charlie and Arssauyaq Pingayak, father Billy Andrews, Aunts Theresa Ayagarak and Margaret Slats, Uncles John, Paul and Francis Pingayak and Phillip and Damien Andrews.

Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
