DALE LEON ADAMS SR., 71, of Lesage, W.Va., passed away Monday, April 28, 2003, in Heritage Center, Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Greenbottom Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jackie Clark and Pastor Paul Spence officiating. Burial will be in Greenbottom Memorial Park. He was born December 4, 1931, in Huntington, a son of the late Delbert C. Adams Sr. and Ida Ellen McGraw Adams. He was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Adams Jr.; a stepson, Donald Smith; two brothers, Dilver and Daniel Adams; and a sister, Barbara Crager. He was a retired machine foreman for the former Owens-Illinois. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of VFW Post 1064, whose members will conduct military graveside rites, and was a member of USS Wisconsin Battleship Association. He was also a member of Minerva Lodge #13 AF&AM of Barboursville, whose members will conduct Masonic graveside rites, and he was a 32nd degree Mason. He attended Greenbottom Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Louise Meadows Adams; a son, Danny Adams of Lesage; a stepdaughter, Sharon Banks; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty Howerton, Beatrice and Charles Parsons, Brenda and Bob Wiseman, and Bonnie Stone; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Denver and Wanda Adams, Darrell Adams, and David Adams, and Delbert Adams Jr. and Barbara Adams.
