Cydermaster and Hop merchant, born at Kingswingford, Staffordshire, England he was the fourth child and third son of Elizabeth (Radcliff) and John Badley of Townsend. He was bequeathed a one fifth share of his brother Edward's estate. As the oldest living son at the time of his father's death he was both executor and was bequeathed all real property.
