Ret. Cpl. Thomas J. Carr Sr.
Thomas J. Carr Sr., 71, of Pulaski Twp., passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford.
Born April 26, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of the late Edward R. and Clara (Barbera) Carr. Tom was a retired Pennsylvanian State Trooper where he served for 30 years in Mercer County. He was a member of the New Brighton American Legion, New Brighton Eagles, New Brighton Croatian Club, Rochester Elks, and the Rochester V.F.W. Tom also served in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Ann (Hollister) Carr; two brothers, William and Robert Carr, and a sister, Patti Sheets.
Surviving are three children, Melissa Pelaez and her husband, Ervin, Silver Springs, MD; Rebecca Lapp and her husband William, Morrisonville, WI; Thomas J. Carr Jr., Pulaski Twp.; one brother and sister-in-law, James L. and Susie Carr, Rochester Twp.; one sister, Mary Glabb, New Brighton; two sisters-in-law, Irene and Joanne Carr; four grandchildren, Brendon Lapp, Jessica and Samantha Carr, and Tristan Pelaez.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time of blessing service at 2 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com, with Rev. Father Tom Kredel, officiating.
Internment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, New Brighton.
The Beaver County Special Unit will provide full military honors Wednesday at the Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
