Died on January 16, 1942 in the crash of TWA Flight DC-3 along with 21 others. Aboard were a crew of 3 with 4 civilian travelers, including Carole Lombard, the wife of Clark Gable. All 15 other passengers were Army Air Corps servicemen. A total of 22 lives lost on Mt. Potosi, Nevada.

Co-pilot for Lieutenant Hal Browne, who also died in the same crash.
