Thomas Phillip Turner, 79, former Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce secretary and the father of Phil Turner, Daily Democrat Circulation Manager, died last night at 8.

Turner was a native of Richmond, Va, but moved to Tallahassee 25 years ago from Reidsville, NC where he was in Chamber of Commerce work. He was the secretary of the Tallahassee organization since 1930.

Funeral services will be in the Culley Chapel tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm with the Rev Jeffery Alfriend, rector of the Episcopal Church in charge. The Jackson Lodge No 1, F and A M will have charge of the graveside rites at 3:30 in Oakland Cemetery.

Worshipful Master W C Huffman of the lodge, asks all Master Masons to attend and report for the special communications at 2:30 tomorrow at the lodge hall.

Turner had been a member of the Masonic lodge for 52 years.

Survivors include wife, who had been a employee of the Chamber of Commerce for many years and three sons, Phillip & Don, Tallahassee and Tom Turner of Josephine, Ala., tow daughters; Mrs Charles A Neff of Tampa and Mrs Francis T Daniels of Inglewood, Calif., and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be J Lewis Hall, R O Collins, W L Marshall, Oris Buchanan, Charles Ashenhart, R W Ashmore, active: and H O Hill, Theo Proctor, J C Harvin, H E Moore, George W Britt, B P Heiss and M P Smith, honorary.
