Francisco Q. Abeyta also known as "Kiko", 74, of Silver City, NM entered into eternal rest at his home on April 3, 2012 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Francisco was born on May 11, 1937, in Silver City, NM to Eusebio and Magdalena Abeyta.
Francisco devoted most of his time and energy as a care giver to all his grandchildren and spent the summers taking several of his grandchildren to the park and swimming. Francisco enjoyed going to the casinos with his wife, picking piñon, fishing, camping and anything to do with the outdoors. Francisco also enjoyed wood cutting with his brother, spending time with his friends and watching his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.
Francisco was a very caring, loving, and wonderful devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, husband and friend.
Francisco retired as an underground miner and also did other miscellaneous jobs. Francisco is survived by his wife, Juanita Abeyta, five daughters, María Abeyta (Edward), Sally Abeyta (Lorenzo), Anna Pena (Raúl) and Roxanne Abeyta (Irven), all from Silver City and Sarah Abeyta (Cody) from Globe, AZ, three sons, Gilbert Abeyta, Luís Abeyta and Frankie Abeyta (Jenny), and a grandson that he considered his son, Ben Abeyta, all of Silver City, 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ylaria Pino from Silver City and Natalia Catasus from California, one brother, Ruben Abeyta from Silver City, and a special uncle and aunt, Pete and Sally Peru from California. Also, Francisco is survived by many nephew, nieces, cousins and friends.
Francisco was proceeded in death by his parents, a brother Eusebio "Jumbo" Abeyta, a daughter, Cathy Abeyta, a great-granddaughter, Jazzmynn Bejarano, a sister-in-law, Susie Abeyta, and a nephew, Manual "Chon" Pino.
A Rosary will be recited at Baca's Funeral Chapel on April 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside services following at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
