Margaret A. Church, age 85, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Jenkins Living Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Chaplain Minoru Tsukamota officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
Pallbearers were Doug Allen, Gary Cosgrove, Shawn Church, Kenny Case, Gene Case and Larry Case.
Margaret Ann (Case) Church was born August 2, 1921 to Paul Clarence and Mabelle (Holm) Case near Mina, South Dakota on the family farm in Cortlandt Township, Edmunds County. She attended grade school in Cortlandt Township District 16-2. She spent some time on the farm, then in 1946 attended Watertown Beauty Academy graduating in June 1947. She was employed in beauty shops in Aberdeen and Watertown and was a member of the National Hairdressing Association.
Margaret was united in marriage with Lyle J. Church on December 3, 1949. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem English Lutheran Church in 1950. The couple resided in Watertown, and then in June of 1952, they moved to Minneapolis. In 1960 Lyle and Margaret moved to Richfield, Minnesota. She was a homemaker until 1962 and then was employed for six years at the Sears Roebuck Mail Order Plant in Minneapolis. She worked at the P.D.G. Factory for one year in Richfield. The couple moved back to Watertown in 1973 and Margaret was employed at Jenkins Methodist Nursing Home for 16 years, retiring in 1989.
She loved to crochet, crewell embroidery, gardening, flowers and spending time with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; aunts and uncles.
Margaret is survived by her son, Richard Paul (Dorothy) Church of Peoria, AZ; her grandson, Shawn P. Church of Redondo, CA; her granddaughter, Jennifer A. Church of Gilbert, AZ; several nieces and nephews.
