John W. Adams, 53, a prominent landowner of South Christian died this morning at 3:15 at the home on East Ninth Street, following an illness of a year and a half. Mr. Adams served as chairman of the Christian County Board of Education for a number of years and always took an active part in education in the county. Adams, of Church Hill; his brother, James H. Adams of Church Hill, and his sister, Mrs. S. H. Williams of Crofton.

The funeral services will be conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. Robert L Cave, his pastor, will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. D. L. Vance, Methodist minister.
