MADISON — Vernon C. Bjornethun, age 70, of 333 West Dayton Street, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 1988, at a local nursing home. He was born on June 1, 1918, in Stoughton. He was a retired chef from Rhode's Steak House. Survivors include: a sister, Mrs. Melvlna Brown of Madison; four brothers, Alton Bjornethun of the State of Oregon, Marlowe Bjornethun of Madison, Eugene Bjornethun of Placerville, California, and Robert Bjornethun of San Antonio, Texas; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Richard. Funeral services will be held at the JOYCE FUNERAL HOME, 540 West Washington Avenue, on Tuesday, August 30, with the Reverend William Berg officiating.
