Elizabeth was born to German Immigrant parents in England on October 5, 1905. The Hoffman family emigrated to Winnipeg, Canada just prior to World War I. In the early 1920's the family moved to Lane St in Seattle where her father was a Baker at the Olympic Hotel and her mother walked daily to Pike St Market shop. As a young woman Elizabeth worked for Canterbury Chocolates as a Bookkeeper, a career she continued until her retirement. She married
Oscar Schwind in the 1930's and they bought a home in Maplewood in 1941, where she lived until 1989. Elizabeth is survived by a stepson, Dean Schwind, sisters-in-law, Iris Schwind and Elinor Hoffman plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, brothers, Willy, Fred, Frank, Phil & George and a sister Mary Volz.
