Curtis Eugene Marshall BLUEWELL, W.Va. — Curtis Eugene Marshall, age 57, of Bluewell, W.Va. passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at his residence.Born on June 5, 1951, in Bluefield, W.Va., he was a son of the late James Heath and Ruby Gertrude Burnett Marshall. He was of the Christian faith. He was a graduate of Northfork High School graduating with the class of 1971. He joined the U.S. Army in 1971 and served as a Military Policeman with the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C. He was employed at Eastern Gas and Fuel to 1979 as a fire boss. He worked at Keystone until 1982 and was currently employed at the Peabody Coal Company in Boone County until his death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Wayne Marshall in 2003; his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Amisittis Semones Marshall; and maternal grandparents, Cornelius Benjamin and Callie Foster Burnette.Survivors: Son, Brian Marshall of Norton, Va.; daughter, Darla Marshall of West Virginia; sisters, Jodean Marshall Ratcliff of Montcalm, W.Va., Patty Marshall Nichols of McDowell County, W.Va., Brenda Marshall Warden and husband W.L. of Green Valley, Letta Marshall Baughman of Montcalm, W.Va.; brothers, Melvin Marshall and wife Dorothy of McDowell County, W.Va., Don Marshall of Bluefield, W.Va., Tim Marshall of Sandlick, W.Va.; grandchildren, Dakota Marshall and Haley Marshall.Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Preacher Eddie Via officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Military Graveside Honors will be performed by the West Virginia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jeff Warden, Mark Warden, James Nichols, Jeremy Crews, John Mayberry, and Brian Marshall. Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
