Marie is the daughter of William O'Kane and Marie O'Neil. She was Baptized on Feb. 18, 1866 at St Columb's (built in 1633) in Londonderry, Derry, Ireland. She came over from Ireland to be a cook at a doctor's home. Maria married Carl Anderson on February 17, 1890 in Philadelphia, PA. She had four sons, Charles F. J., Clause Ludwig, Robert A.J., and John Joseph, whom she raised after her husband died in 1902. She also helped to raised her grandson, Charles, and her granddaughter, Marie. She died in 1944 at age 78 in Philadelphia.
