Occupation: Blacksmith. The son of William Ford, Jr. and Sarah Chapman; Married Maria Sawyer July 9, 1849 and had the following children:

He was the Superintendent of the Centertown Sabbath School in Centertown, KY in 1894.

Served as a Captain for the CSA during the Civil War in Lyon's Brig. Cavalry in Kentucky. He was captured and taken prisoner in Citronell, Alabama on 4 May 1865 and was released from prison in Mobile, Alabama on 30 May 1865. According to his service records, he was 5 ft., 8 1/2 inches tall, with fair complexion, and dark hair and dark eyes.

A tombstone dedication service was held May 17, 2014 to erect a Military Veteran stone to honor Captain Ford. Until this date his burial location at Walton's Creek Cemetery was unmarked. The tombstone dedication was sponsored by Sgt Elijah P. Marrs Camp #5 Sons of Union Veterans and Forrest's Orphan's Camp #1744 Sons of Confederate Veterans. Guest speakers were Rick Lambert of Big Sandy, TN and Helen McKeown of Centertown, KY.
