Albert passed away at the age of 89. Albert, was born in Winnipeg, and was the fifth of nine children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and raised on the family farm in the Niverville area, his family were faithful parishioners of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church which was located near Niverville, Manitoba (½ mile west of Highway 59 on the Niverville Road). Albert married Emily Stefura in St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church in Winnipeg on 20 Sept. 1939. They farmed for a number of years in the Gunton and Stoney Mountain areas. Albert served briefly with the Canadian Army during World War II and following his discharge worked as a carpenter in the Greater Winnipeg area until his retirement. Albert and Emily raised their family of four sons, in their St. James, Manitoba home, while always appreciating and preserving their rural connections and roots.
