Rosy was the last child to be born in the old house in Hopewell. They had moved to the new farmhouse just outside of Broad Top City. Rosy died a few week after her brother Isaac Bruce Swope, Jr. was born. Old Ike dearly loved Rosy and took her death very hard. This was the first child this family lost. When he would come home from a hard day's work in the mines, Rosy would push a basin of water to him so he could wash his feet. Family oral history says she died of a worm infestation and choked to death.
