Cleo Semaganis Nicotine was born a member of the Little Pine First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada. Her biological parents were Lillian Semaganis and (Living?) Nicotine. Cleo was raised on the Little Pine Indian Nation Reserve until the early 1970's when she was taken from her family. In 1974 she was sent to the United States to be adopted by a non-indigenous family at which time she was given the name Cleo Madonia (her adoptive parents may be living so are not named here). She spent the next few years being raised in New Jersey until her tragic passing in 1978.

A death notice was published in the Courier-Post on 26 Dec 1978 and in The Central Record on 28 December 1978.
