James and Elizabeth Campbell had 12 children, at lest r of them being born in North Carolina and come with their parents to Richwoods Township in about 1830. Children Mary Ann, William P., Nancy Emeline, James Elihu and Nathan (Nathaniel) were born in Rowan County and the remaining children (John Wilson, Phylinda Jane, Perry Oliver, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and Elizabeth Ann Campbell) were born in Richwoods Township.
