The 1920 census revealed they were living in Chicago Ward 2, Cook Co, Illinois. They had four sons and one daughter still at home.

The 1930 census revealed their son Julius was the only one still at home. Oddly Arthur DeSomer was living with Joseph Bertrand and his wife listed as son.
