Spud Forsyth, 53, 591 Prospect Rd., Rockmart, died Saturday, May 7 at his residence. He was born January 14, 1941 in Rome, was a member of the First Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired car dealer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Marvine Head Forsyth. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Linda Irwin Forsyth of Rockmart; two sons, Jimmy Forsyth, Eastman and Jerry Forsyth, Rockmart; brother Jerry Irwin, Ozark, AL and one granddaughter. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9 from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers included Bobby Smith, Lee Cummings, Bill Cummings, Ed Murdock, Doug Thompson, Jimmy Irwin and Johnny Pinkard. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
