The news of the death of Mrs. Artimus Adams was received in this city last Monday. She had been feeble for some time, but the immediate cause of her death was pneumonia. Mrs. Adams had many friends in this county, who knew her in the old pioneer days. She was a woman who made many friends and was able to retain them. Mr. and Mrs. Adams and one son and daughter came to the town of Belle Plaine immediately after the close of the war. Mr. Adams died at Belle Plaine March 17, 1874. The family continued to reside in the Belle Plaine until the autumn of 1877, when they moved to Iowa, where they remained until 1903, when they moved to Beaver County, Oklahoma, where they now reside. Sarah Britton Adams was born in Cheshire county, New Hampshire, in August, 1830 and died at her home near Knowles, Beaver County, Oklahoma, March 5, 1908. She leaves one son, Ernest, and two daughters, Mrs. Alice Lundy and Mrs. Meta Lundy, who were all with her at the time of her death.
