MULLINS - Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Meggs Cook, 81, wife of Fernie Cantey Cook, Jr., died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Marion Regional Hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Cook was born August 5, 1930 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Harvey and Nora B. Meggs. She was a homemaker and a member of Ariel Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Cook in addition to her husband of the home are a daughter, Ellen Gasque and her husband Mason of Mullins; and a sister, Frances Meggs Lane of Marion.
Mrs. Cook was predeceased by a son, Fernie Cantey Cook, III, five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Ariel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Moretz and the Rev. Steve Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Ariel Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
