Bess Clardy, 95, Dawson Springs Road, died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Crabtree officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

A native of Christian County, she was born Sept. 3, 1915, the daughter of the late Dallas and Rosa Shelby Austin.

She had worked for 30 years as a hairdresser at Fort Campbell and was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

Her first husband, Stanley Clayton Brawner, died in 1966. Her second husband, Thel Clardy, died in 1998. Two sons, Stanley Brawner Jr. and Michael Leslie Brawner, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Dallas Brawner, Hopkinsville; two daughters, Betty Joyce Sanders, Long Beach, Miss., Nora Clardy, Hopkinsville; a sister, Dorothy Claybourne, North Carolina, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
