Mrs. Sarah Rex.
COHOCTON, Sept. 21 — The death of Mrs. Sarah Rex, removes a most respected resident of Cohocton where most of her life of 77 years had been passed and where for many years she had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Her death early Monday morning followed a long complicated illness. Funeral services were held at the family home Wednesday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Marshall M. Shaut, assisted by Rev's. M. E. Heisler of Bath, and H. A. Slingerland of Cohocton, with burial at the North Cohocton cemetery. Mrs. Rex is survived by her husband, William H. Rex a veteran of the Civil War. Their marriage took place 65 years ago. Three daughters, Mrs. Clifford Crouch of Naples, Mrs. Mason Jones of Hornell, Mrs. James H. Moulton of Bath, five sons, Frank G. Rex of Wayland, Jacob Rex of Dansville, Alfred E. Rex of Atlanta William Rex of North Cohocton and nearly 40 grand and great grandchildren also survive. The five sons an a nephew, Myron E. Rex of this village acted as bearers and the woman's relief Corps of the G. A . R., of which she was a member, had charge of the services at the cemetery.
