Mary Opal Brumley Hudson, 78, the widow of Calvin Hudson, of Foxwood Drive in Nicholasville, died Sunday, Jan. 18, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Survivors include four children and their spouses, Jerry and Brenda Brumley of Lexington, Terry and Susan Hudson of Nicholasville, Linda and Rick Whitaker of Somerset and Cindy and Anthony Ervin of Keene; grandchildren and their spouses, Jay and Sadie Brumley, Jason and Tressa Phelps, Melissa Hudson, Troy and Tabetha Whitaker, Angie Todd and Montana Ervin; two great-granddaughters, Bryce and Casey Brumley; and three special friends, Tina Joiner, Michelle and Beverly Smith.

Two sons, James R. Brumley and Lee Hudson, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor T.L. Jones officiating, and burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

Bearers will be Sam, Jay, and Jerry Brumley, Eugene Baker, Terry Hudson and Anthony Ervin.
