He married Alma (Seidel) Hauk and they had six children: LouiseAnne Dorsam (Thomas Jr.), Roberta A. Corbin, Walter M. Hauk, Jr (Carol), Richard P. Hauk, Kathleen E. Hauk and Maureen E. Hauk. At the time of his passing in 2003 he had 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
He was a Soldier in the Army during World War II. He was a former employee of Merck, Sharp and Dohme of West Point, PA for over 25 years and an employment and placement manager until his retirement. He was a member of the Presidential Committee for Hiring the Handicapped and also was a member of the American Legion. He was a devout Catholic and a dedicated member of Saint Matthew's Church in Conshohocken, PA.
