Julia accepted Christ and was baptised at an early age. She joined Starlight Temple of Prayer under the leadership of the late Henry Burke. Later she became a member of The Church of God under the leadership of the late Reverend Elum.
Julia had a strong faith in God and truly believed in the power of prayer. She married Dorsey McDonald who also preceded her in death, and to this union was born John.
Julia was educated in the River Rouge School District. She graduated from The Detroit Business Institute and went to for BASF Wyandotte Chemicals. She received a bachelors degree in psychology and social work at St Francis Home For Boys.
Julia was a very nurtuing, caring, and supportative mother who loved her family deeply. She was also an honest and genuine person who believed in people and encouraged the to believe in themselves. Julia truly believed that you accomplish any goal you set out to achieve Discipline, Direction, Deternination and Dedication.
Julia made her transition on March 28, 2012. She leaves behind many beloved ones to cherish her memory: Her children, Wanda and John; 3 grandchildren, Lemarcus, Sharron, and Keairra; 33 brothers, Charles (Vera), John and Joe. 2 sister Adedra, 1 aunt Lucy; 2 sisters-in-law, Virginia and Barbara and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
