Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home for Joe Allen Turner of the Flatwoods community. He passed away suddenly Tuesday at Westlake Regional Hospital ER.
Mr. Turner was the son of the late Millard Payne and Lyda Mae Piercy Turner of Adair County.
He is survived by:
His wife, Joyce Foster Turner of Columbia
Two sons, Mark and his wife Kim Turner of Columbia, and Patrick and his wife Linda Turner of Columbia
One daughter, Donna and her husband Wendell Grant of Breeding
Two brothers, Jerry Turner of Columbia, and Larry Turner of Fairplay
Three sisters: Jeanette Petty of Columbia; Nancy Burton of Columbia and Dency Upton of Bowling Green
Two step-brothers, L.V. Turner of Indianapolis, and James Turner of Columbia
Ten grandchildren: Chris Grant, Stephanie Grant, Ashley Fudge, Erica, Lucas, P.J., Skylor, Logan, Miranda and Mariah Turner
One great grandchild, Natalie Fudge.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Redmon.
Mr. Turner was a farmer and attended the New Concord Methodist Church.
Vistitation begins after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Clergy officiating at the Friday afternoon service will be Bro. Willard Parson, Bro. Jimmy Bunch and Bro. Steve Coffey.
Interment will be in the A. B. Turner Cemetery at Chance, KY.
