Obituary:
Jerry A. Bennett, Sr.
Oct. 1, 1937 - July 27, 2006

Jerry Bennett, loving husband of Joan Bennett, transcended his earthly life at home, in American Canyon, on Thursday after a long illness. He was born in Omaha, Neb. and lived four of his adolescent years in Boys Town where he sang in the choir and developed his love of music. He joined the Navy, served in the Korean War and sailed the Pacific Rim. He was a disabled veteran.

Jerry met Joan, the love of his life, while stationed at Mare Island. They were married 49 years and had five Children, 12 grandchildren and four great Grandsons, all of whom he passionately loved. Jerry will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched and who loved him.

Jerry was grateful for his life and encouraged others. He never said goodbye, it was always an affectionate "keep the faith."

Jerry is survived by his wife, Joan, sons Jerry Jr. and John Bennett and daughter Juliet Crites; a brother, Joseph F. Bennett of Huntsville, Alabama; and sister, Bonnie Rain of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by two adult children, Jill and Jim Bennett.

A Rosary will be recited at Las Casitas Mobile Home Park, 3000 Broadway, American Canyon, California at 7:00 pm. Wednesday, August 2. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the American Canyon Baptist Church, 2 Andrew Rd. Donations may be made to the Holy Family Youth Group, 402 Donaldson Way, American Canyon, California 94503, or to the American Cancer Society, 1125 Missouri St., #109, Fairfield, California 94533.
